Hello! I'm Chanda and I've been a writer for a long time. For how long, I cannot say.
I've always had ideas that never fully formed on paper and I've always liked the concept behind game creation. I have been working on Markings since 2017 and I never fully developed it as a concept. I just bought the assets and that's where it failed.
I think because I never fully wrote it down on paper that it never took physical form other than the assets. As time went by, I found a lot of plot holes in the writing and sort of put it to the side and didn't touch it. I also just wasn't motivated to take the next step. I think part of it had to do with no one believing that I could make this game and those feelings make me believe that I couldn't either, so I just stopped. That isn't to say it will never come to fruition! Right now, I'm working on character development and plot for the game.
I really like writing and I think it's one of my good points, but I don't really like putting my writing out there. Planning definitely helps a lot more than just pushing it all out there, I feel and fleshed characters out as well. Knowing your characters by heart and what they're like. What they'll say, in my opinion will make a better game. The games Winter Fever and Lock & Key are side stories to Markings and I've started writing more about it in depth to get a better feel. I feel like the more I plan it out, the better a game, it'll be.
I hope this encourages other people to work on their games as well!
